Public Relations Coordinator

Location :  Hybrid

Medidata follows a hybrid office policy in which employees who are hired for an in-person position are expected to work on site a certain number of days per week in accordance with Company policy.

About the Team :

As Public Relations Coordinator, you will report to the Public Relations Director helping to amplify the voice and visibility of the Medidata brand through the execution of public relations, media relations, and other external communications strategies, activities, and programs. Key responsibilities include working closely with PR Director and PR agency.

Responsibilities :

Draft and distribute press releases, news briefs, media alerts, messaging documents, and other PR materials

Assist in developing and maintaining relationships with trade reporters important to driving Medidata news

Monitor media coverage and compile results reports

Coordinate media interviews and craft briefing documents to support company subject matter experts and executives

Maintain PR databases and trackers, media lists, coverage reports, and website newsroom

Partner with broader marketing team, including social media, events, and other comms teams, to plan and implement PR campaigns in support of business priorities

Qualifications :

Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills

Detail oriented with strong organizational and project management skills with ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Excellent knowledge of public relations best practices, media strategies, and AP style guide.

Strong media pitching skills are preferred

Understanding of and comfortable with Microsoft Office, Google Drives, Slack

Passion for Marketing and Public Relations

Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in public relations, journalism, communications, or related field

0-2 years of PR experience in PR agency or in-house corporate communications department

Experience in tech, life sciences industry, and / or clinical development area preferred

The salary range posted below refers only to positions that will be physically based in

New York City / New Jersey . As with all roles, Medidata sets ranges based on a number of factors including function, level, candidate expertise and experience, and geographic location. Pay ranges for candidates in locations other than

New York City / New Jersey , may differ based on the local market data in that region. The base salary pay range for this position is $66,000 to $88,000.

Base pay is one part of the Total Rewards that Medidata provides to compensate and recognize employees for their work. Most sales positions are eligible for a commission on the terms of applicable plan documents, and many of Medidata's non-sales positions are eligible for annual bonuses.
