What You'll Do

Reporting directly to the Chief Science Officer, you'll join our Paris-based team to advance our mission of discovering game-changing materials that can reimagine chemical reactions. As an ML Scientist, you'll play a central role in :

  • Developing Algorithms : Collaborate with our expert team to create predictive and generative ML models, optimizing them for materials discovery in partnership with our industry and academic collaborators.
  • Model Evaluation : Continuously assess and refine our models' performance, creating custom metrics that drive effective catalyst generation.
  • Active Learning : Shape the active learning strategy, optimizing sample selection to enhance future model performance.
  • Catalyst Analysis : Guide the evaluation of new catalyst candidates using your scientific expertise to prioritize results.
  • Communicating Results : Present AI research concepts to the materials science community and communicate experimental needs with the ML team.
  • Cross-Disciplinary Collaboration : Work side-by-side with ML engineers, material scientists, and chemists to develop effective materials for critical applications.

What We're Looking For

  • Educational Background : M.S or PhD in Machine Learning, Material Science, Chemistry, or a related field with a focus on AI for scientific applications.
  • Experience : Skilled in machine learning and materials discovery, especially in training ML models for applications like electro-catalysis.
  • Adaptability : A proactive learner with a passion for uniting machine learning with materials science.
  • Communication : Exceptional ability to convey complex ideas to interdisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
  • Analytical Ability : Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Technical Skills : Proficient in Python, familiar with Git, and capable with data analysis and visualization tools. Knowledge in catalysis, physics, and chemistry is a plus.
