Adolphe de Rothschild Foundation Hospital is a research hospital specialized in ophthalmology and neurology. Main research objective is to improve the health of all by advancing knowledge of ocular and cerebral disease, and innovation in treatment. The BRAIN team (Building Research in artificial intelligence and Neuro-ophthalmology) is based in Paris 19th. The team consists of 10 persons including researchers, clinicians, post-doctoral researchers and Master and PhD students. Within this context, one of the projects led by Dr Frank van der Heide (project leader) focusses on identification of risk factors for accelerated cognitive ageing. Post-doctoral researcher position on omics and accelerated cognitive ageing - F / M Offer Description : We would like to recruit a post-doctoral researcher in epidemiology for a project on the "Importance of omics for cognitive ageing" that aims to select and harmonize proteomic and metabolomic factors for predicting cognitive ageing outcomes.

  • You will have to undertake a literature review on proteomic and metabolomic risk factors for cognitive ageing
  • Conduct Mendelian Randomization analyses to validate proteomic and metabolomic features in associations with cognitive ageing
  • Write scientific articles to report the results.
  • Contribute to generating polygenic risk scores and harmonizing of other variables that will be used in models. This position requires a good level in statistics and programing (PLINK) as well as knowledge in genetic epidemiology. The project will use data from ten large cohort studies.
  • Collaborate with international researchers, this requires the applicant to be fluent in English. Type of contract : Temporary. The starting date of this project will be March 1 2025.
