About Scientific Portfolio (an EDHEC Venture)

Scientific Portfolio is the latest fintech toe out of the EDHEC Business School’s incubator as part of its strategy to impact the industry by transferring academic know-how through business ventures.

Scientific Portfolio helps equity investors analyze and construct portfolios through an intuitive web-based platform that captures both the financial and ESG dimensions. After a period of intensive R&D and technology development, Scientific Portfolio has opened for business and is looking to hire a Data Operations Engineer to take its equity portfolio ESG and market data processing capabilities to the next level.

Mission

As Scientific Portfolio’s Data Operations Engineer, you will be responsible for :

  • Guarantying the quality of strategic ESG and financial datasets involved in the construction of equity portfolios.
  • Contributing to the definition, setup, and maintenance of a next-level equity investment universe, and managing live corporate actions.
  • Using advanced anomaly detection and resolution techniques to process large amounts of data, leaving minimal manual intervention.
  • Investigating anomalous data points using public available sources including but not limited to corporate annual financial and sustainability reports.
  • Developing, running, and maintaining estimation frameworks topensate for missing data.

Required Experience and Skills

The ideal candidate has at least 8Y of experience in the financial industry including the last 5Y in a similar position, including significant experience in :

  • Equity investment universe maintenance
  • Corporate actions management
  • Financial data reconciliation and verification
  • Methodological transparency through documentation and management rules
  • Client interactions regarding any of the above data-related issues

    • The position requires :

  • A rigorous mindset and attention to detail
  • Knowledge of the general principles of corporate finance
  • The analytical / quantitative mindset and technological savvy naturally expected in a fintech
  • Programming skills
  • Collaborative andmunication skills

    • Location :

    Scientific Portfolio’s offices are on the following EDHEC campuses :

  • London (near Saint Paul’s)
  • Paris (near Palais Brongniart)
  • Nice (near the Nice Côte d’Azur airport)

    • The successful candidate would ideally be based in Nice, but the Paris campus is also a possibility. An existing work permit is required.
