BWS International are currently seeking a Senior Subsea Packages EPC Contract Engineer for a high-value offshore project involving subsea production systems (SPS) and subsea umbilicals, risers, and flowlines (SURF).
Role Overview :
As a Senior Contract Engineer , you will play a pivotal role in managing contract engineering and administration activities for large-scale EPC subsea packages , supporting capital projects with a CAPEX of $50M to $3B. You will work closely with internal stakeholders and external project entities to lead the end-to-end contract lifecycle - including tendering, negotiation, execution, and claims management.
Key Responsibilities :
1. Contract Engineering & Project Support :
- Support all contract and procurement activities for designated SPS / SURF packages.
- Lead preparation and execution of complex Call for Tender (CFT) packages : CCFT, OBE / OBT, FEED+, etc.
- Structure commercial terms, review exceptions, and manage negotiations.
- Evaluate technical and commercial bids and provide award recommendations.
- Raise early-stage claims prevention awareness within the project team.
- Ensure compliance with project approvals and gate reviews.
2. Senior Referent Responsibilities :
Define and coordinate contract methodologies and internal best practices.Support and coach junior contract engineers on the team.Ensure governance and consistency in contract processes across assigned projects.Represent the contracts function in project reviews and management meetings.3. Legal Coordination & Stakeholder Interface :
Liaise with legal teams to align contract strategies and compliance efforts.Represent the project team in interactions with partners, suppliers, and internal committees.4. Claims & Dispute Management :
Analyze and support resolution of contractor and company claims.Advise project teams on claim strategies and draft related correspondence.Investigate major disputes and assist in building structured claim dossiers.5. Knowledge Sharing & REX :
Contribute to internal lessons learned (REX) and ensure continuous process improvement.Required Skills & Qualifications :
Minimum 20 years of experience in EPC contract engineering and administration , with a strong focus on offshore projects .At least 10 years' recent experience managing SPS and SURF contracts .Deep understanding of the entire project lifecycle , especially the EPC phase.Strong track record in CFT processes , contract drafting, negotiation, and administration.Experience with claims and dispute resolution in complex project environments.Exceptional stakeholder management, communication, and coordination skills.Fluent in English and French (both written and spoken).Must have the right to work in the EU without visa sponsorship.Soft Skills :
