Infrastructure Engineer

Role Description & Responsibilities
Your specific responsibilities will include, but not limited to:

• Design, deploy, monitor, & maintain IT infrastructure (servers, storage, networking, virtualization, backup, and cloud services) while ensuring system performance, availability, and capacity planning to meet business requirements.
  
• Develop and maintain infrastructure-as-code (IaC) and automation scripts for deployment, configuration, and operational tasks. On-call rotation or weekend work is required for critical incidents or maintenance windows.
  
• Troubleshoot complex hardware, software, and network issues across various environments. In addition, automate routine system administration tasks and optimize operational workflows.
  
• Support infrastructure patching, upgrades, and security hardening processes while collaborating with DevOps, Security, and Application teams to integrate infrastructure into CI/CD pipelines.
  
• Maintain and improve system documentation, diagrams, SOPs, and knowledge base articles.
  
• Participate in disaster recovery planning, testing, and execution whilst monitoring software infrastructure using tools like Nagios, Prometheus, or OpsManager

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in infrastructure engineering, systems administration, or related fields with strong troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.
  
• Strong proficiency in scripting languages (, PowerShell, Bash, Python) and solid understanding of virtualization (VMware), networking, DNS, DHCP, Firewalls, etc.
  
• Good familiarity with the use of IaC tools (Terraform, ARM, CloudFormation) and with Windows Server and/or Linux administration.
  
• Good understanding of Active Directory, Group Policy, and authentication protocols.
  
• Experience with version control tools like Git. Experience with cloud platforms (AWS) is an added advantage.
