Position Overview :
The Consumer Goods Forum (CGF) is seeking a Senior Technical Manager for its Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI).
The Senior Technical Manager’s role will consist in leading several food safety work streams within GFSI including communication to key stakeholders. The SeniorTechnical Manager will be in charge on the GFSI Benchmarking Process in collaboration with his / her manager who leads the GFSI Benchmarking. The candidate will be working in an international environment in close collaboration with Senior Quality Directors of the 400 member companies of The Consumer Goods Forum. There will also be opportunities to work with government representatives as part of the GFSI’s public private partnership strategy.
The Senior Technical Manager will report to the GFSI management team.
This is a fulltime permanent position, based in the CGF headquarters in Levallois-Perret (Paris area).
Key Responsibilities :
Development and Management of Working Groups and Work Streams
- Lead several Technical Working Group projects to deliver on mandates set by the GFSI Steering Committee.
- Select relevant representatives from member companies for each work stream, ensure their continuous engagement (e.g. webinars, conference calls…) and obtain consensus.
- Systematically liaise with the Working Group Chairs and board liaisons before and between the meetings to ensure timely delivery of objectives.
- Coordinate meeting planning, communication and report writing.
- Manage global stakeholder consultations (certification bodies, CPOs, non-profit / NGOs…).
- Help to identify relevant tasks to be proposed for new Technical Working Groups.
Communication
Work closely with the Communication Manager on the content for the regular publications, GFSI website updates and press releases…Support the GFSI Coordinator in terms of content to answer queries and liaising with stakeholdersRepresent the GFSI and give presentations in meetings and conferencesManagement of the GFSI Benchmarking Process & GFSI requirements documents
Apply the process outlined in the GFSI documentation to each individual request for benchmarking.Ensure that each benchmark is appropriately tracked and each step is being completed in a timely manner.Manage communication between the Benchmark Leader, Members and the Certification Program Owner, as well as the GFSI Steering Committee.Ensure timely follow-up on outstanding issues.Coordinate communication on the completion of each benchmark.Assist the regulatory affair task force and the local group in the technical discussionsProvide support and deliver the technical part of the task in the discussions and pilots with regional regulators or government representatives.Supporting functions
Participate in the preparation and running of governance meetings (Steering Committee, Stakeholder, Advisory Council and Scheme Owner), the drafting of strategy-related work .Build and follow the budget relative to the field of his / her activity in liaison with his / her peer and the GFSI teamPrepare research and reports when required.Requirements
Bachelor degree in food related discipline (food science, food technology).Minimum 5 years working experience within the Food safety industry.Direct experience performing third party audits (GMP, HACCP or GFSI) is desirable.Lead Auditor and HACCP training course.Strong leadership : Articulate and persuasive, with facilitation skills, ability to identify common objectives among different groups and reach consensus.Experienced in engaging with a wide range of stakeholders, including companies, standard bodies, international organizations and governments.Willing to learn with an ability to understand the political and diplomatic challenges of the programme.Strong / demonstrated project management skillsA strong team player, able to take initiative and work autonomously in a collaborative environmentAbility to deliver objectives on time. Analysis and decision-making capabilities.Good organisational skills, rigorousFluent in English with excellent oral and written communication skillsIT literate - MS Office / Internet.The candidate must have the flexibility and freedom to travel to all continents and hold a valid French work permit.
