JOB PURPOSE :
As a Designer, your primary responsibility is to utilize Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools to conceptualize, design, and develop instruments for Laboratories and components.
You will operate both independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams, spanning various departments, to address challenges and provide innovative solutions, all while keeping a keen focus on meeting customer needs and expectations.
Completes assignments and projects of increasingly larger scope requiring knowledge of concepts, methods, and application of engineering principles and maintaining a high level of integrity and safety awareness.
Ongoing training includes development of new skills related to learning procedures and methods in the design of instruments for Laboratories and components.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES / KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (Other duties may be assigned) :
- Prepare testing procedures and test reports. May include direct involvement with testing programs and related personnel.
- Assists interdepartmental support which may include technical problem solving within the manufacturing, quality, and safety departments.
Investigates product non-conformances and engineering change requests and implements changes if necessary.
- Advises and assists Presales and after sales department on a technical level during development, production, and operation of customer specific tools and / or applications.
- Develops a basic knowledge of products, materials, and processes to provide manufacturing support and technical support.
Assists in the development of product lines. A high level of supervision and training is required to fulfill job responsibilities.
Undertake any other reasonable duties as designated by the line manager.
QUALIFICATIONS :
- Technical school education in design / drafting with a 2-year degree or a diploma plus 3-5 years in CAD systems or equivalent combination of education / experience.
- Two years of experience in SolidWorks is preferred.
AutoCAD and Inventor is desired.
- Knowledge of hydraulics, pressure vessels and automated controls and their functions is desired.
