Job Description :

Global Project Lead Buyer acts as the key liaison between the Procurement Department and internal project teams. This role is critical in ensuring the success and performance of assigned projects while maintaining full compliance with procurement processes and best practices.

The position guarantees the suitability of the supplier panel and integrates procurement strategy within the project strategy, considering project-specific constraints and requirements

Main Responsibilities :

1.Strategy and Purchasing Management

oDefine Sourcing Strategies : Develop purchasing strategies based on internal stakeholders' needs and business orientations, intervening from the proposal phase through to project execution.

oPlanning and Coordination : Implement a sourcing / procurement plan consistent with technical, industrial, and purchasing category strategies. Ensure coordination of purchasing within the department and subsidiaries.

oRisk Management : Establish risk management mapping and relevant mitigation plans for each project.

2.Purchasing Execution

oProcess Supervision : Oversee the execution of the purchasing process, from specification definition to supplier contractualization.

oCoordination with Category Lead Buyers : Lead and coordinate Category Lead Buyers in sourcing and Request for Quotation (RFQ) activities to ensure alignment with project goals and strategies. Facilitate effective communication and collaboration among Category Lead Buyers to optimize sourcing outcomes.

oMonitoring and Supplier Engagement : Track purchasing activities throughout contract execution until project delivery. Engage with suppliers actively and manage claims processes and managerial escalation principles to resolve issues effectively.

oBudget and Competitiveness : Drive and secure the sourcing budget achievement on time for the project, promoting cost competitiveness tools (benchmark, should cost…).

oContractual Compliance : Promote and secure the application of contractual terms and conditions to suppliers, in collaboration with subcontracting services.

3.Supplier Performance Management

oEvaluation and Improvement : Ensure supplier performance assessment and initiate corrective actions for continuous improvement.

oNegotiation : Manage RFQ processes and negotiate delegated purchasing categories to achieve optimal conditions. Negotiate the best conditions using a TCO approach to meet internal customers' business requirements.

oESG Commitment : Promote and secure Axens' ESG policy and commitment.

4.Contribution to Development

oContinuous Improvement : Contribute to the purchasing department's continuous improvement plan (skills, training, newcomer coaching, processes, tools…).

oKnowledge Sharing : Promote and maintain relationships with relevant services for sharing knowledge, methods, market analysis, best practices, and engineering experiences.

KNOWLEGDE AND SKILLS REQUIRED

You hold a Master's degree in Purchasing (such as DESMA or MAI, Business school) with over 6 years of experience in purchasing for industrial products or services, along with project experience and a technical / engineering background. Autonomy and flexibility are crucial for adapting to volatile and complex environments, and additional knowledge in incoterms, tax, and transport is beneficial.

Proficiency in English is essential, as is the ability to work in project mode, coordinating and influencing peers effectively. A legal background is expected to support contractual matters with the Legal department. Strong knowledge of procurement tools is also required.

Your understanding of purchasing processes and project management enables you to collaborate efficiently within multidisciplinary teams. You possess analytical and communication skills, are a recognized team player, and excel in achieving performance objectives through collaborative yet persuasive negotiation.

This role requires frequent international travel.
