Purpose

  • The Project Construction Quality Manageris responsible for the overall quality management processes throughout the construction phase onsite.
  • You oversee that all construction activities meet the required safety, quality, and environmental standards, working closely with the project management team, contractors, engineers, and other stakeholders to maintain the highest quality standards and ensure compliance with client specifications and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

  • You develop, implement, and manage the Construction Quality Management Plan (CQMP) for FPSO projects, ensuring alignment with client requirements, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • You ensure quality control procedures are aligned with the overall project quality strategy, promoting continuous improvement across all construction phases.
  • You promote a culture of quality within the project teams, ensuring that quality awareness is maintained throughout all stages of construction.
  • You oversee quality control activities related to construction processes, including fabrication, assembly, installation, and commissioning of FPSO units.
  • You monitor and manage inspections, material certifications, welding, NDT, dimensional control, Ex, coating, and testing to ensure compliance with project specifications and regulatory standards.
  • You develop and implement the Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), and ensure that all non-conformance reports (NCRs) are properly documented and addressed.
  • You prepare and deliver regular quality performance reports to senior management and clients, highlighting key quality issues, corrective actions, and improvements.
  • You collaborate with other departments (e.g., engineering, procurement, safety) to ensure that quality standards are incorporated into all phases of the project.
  • You proactively propose and implement process improvements to enhance quality performance and reduce rework or defects during construction findings, inspection reports, and non-conformance documentation to senior managment and clients.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, or related discipline) or equivalent.
  • Multilingual: Proficiency in additional languages is beneficial, especially for international projects with diverse teams.

Experience

  • Minimum of 10+ years of experience in construction quality management, with at least 3 years in a leadership role in FPSO, oil & gas, or marine construction.
  • Strong knowledge of quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001), HSE standards, and industry codes related to FPSO construction (e.g., ASME, API, ASTM).
  • Extensive experience in construction quality control (CQC) and assurance, including the management of inspections, testing, and non-conformance management.
  • Knowledge of FPSO design, fabrication, installation, and commissioning processes.
  • Familiarity with project management software and tools.
  • Strong technical background with the ability to understand complex technical drawings, specifications, and construction processes. The Construction Quality Manager will be required to work on-site and travel as needed to various construction yards or offshore locations.
  • The position requires a strong commitment to health, safety, and environmental (HSE) practices.
