French Tax Manager, Tax EMEA Consumer

Join Amazon EU as an International Tax Manager and play a pivotal role in shaping our European tax strategy particularly in France. Youll navigate complex tax landscapes collaborate with stakeholders across the organization and provide strategic guidance that directly impacts our business operations and compliance framework.

Key job responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate tax audits and litigations in particular in France (including preparing deliverables meetings with tax authorities etc).
- Assist with managing relationships with outside tax consultants and regulatory authorities on an ongoing basis
- Partner with multiple stakeholders across the company to lead tax input on the launch of new business initiatives and provide ongoing tax support for queries
- Own corporate tax input on projects to deliver detailed tax analysis and recommendations
- Communicate complex tax concepts in ways that are meaningful and useful to non-tax professionals
- Engage regularly with business partners to ensure understanding and continued compliance with the groups European business structure
- Assess how existing and upcoming tax laws and regulations will impact the Amazon businesses


A day in the life
As an International Tax Manager supporting Amazon EUs European operations youll divide your time between managing tax audits and litigations in France coordinating with tax authorities and serving as a trusted tax advisor to business teams across the organization. You might spend your morning preparing audit deliverables and meeting with regulatory authorities then transition to consulting with cross-functional teams on tax implications for new business initiatives. Youll translate intricate tax regulations into clear actionable insights for colleagues without tax backgrounds ensuring our business partners understand how tax considerations affect their projects. Your role bridges the gap between our tax function and the broader business making you essential to both compliance and strategic decision-making.

- professional tax accounting or legal qualification (e.g. Chartered Accountant (CA) Associate Chartered Accountant (ACA) Chartered Tax Adviser (CTA) Chartered Institute of Taxation (CIOT) or similar)
- Knowledge of knowledge of VAT in EU/UK
- Knowledge of strong understanding of tax compliance principles regulations and reporting requirements across jurisdictions
- Experience working in a large public accounting firm or multi-national corporate tax department
- Experience tax advisory (excluding compliance)
- Experience a direct tax role in a multinational and/or professional organization
- Experience advisory experience in a large accounting/consultancy practice law firm tax authority or business in-house.
- Experience tax authorities with exposure to multinational taxpayers / cross-border transactions.
- Experience of working with European tax laws with an expertise in French tax law
