The Role


The Senior Consultant will be responsible for the operational management of strategic industrial projects benefiting from public funding (from a minimum of €50 million up to several billion euros) within the European Union, from their structuring through to their implementation.


They will work on matters combining State aid, industrial strategy, innovation, public funding, competition economics, and economic analysis.


Concrete experience with individual notification procedures before the European Commission is essential, as these files represent a major component of the firm’s activity.


The Senior Consultant will notably:

  • support clients in structuring strategic projects;
  • design and secure public funding strategies at both national and European levels;
  • conduct economic, financial, competition, and regulatory analyses;
  • prepare, coordinate, and secure notification files with the European Commission;
  • lead projects as project manager, ensuring team coordination, adherence to deadlines, the quality of deliverables, and client satisfaction;
  • supervise and coordinate the work of junior consultants involved in the projects;
  • contribute to interactions with European institutions, national authorities, and clients;
  • contribute to the development of the firm’s expertise, service offerings, and strategic initiatives;
  • represent the firm at conferences, webinars, working groups, and industry events.


Files are prepared primarily in English.


The role combines:

  • economic analysis;
  • financial analysis;
  • strategic structuring;
  • project management;
  • coordination of multiple stakeholders;
  • and client interaction.


Experience

  • Approximately 5 to 6 years of professional experience;
  • Minimum 2 years of hands-on State aid experience within a consulting environment;
  • Mandatory experience with individual notification procedures before the European Commission;
  • Command of the economic and financial analyses used in State aid files, in particular the preparation and analysis of notification business plans;
  • Excellent drafting and analytical skills;
  • Strong understanding of business, economic, and financial issues.


Education

  • Master’s degree required (Bac+5 or equivalent);
  • Background in economics, competition economics, European law, public policy, or related fields;
  • A PhD would be a plus but is not mandatory.

Package & Benefits
