Manager, Compliance Assurance Europe (f/m/d)

Being part of HSBC in France, you’ll help evolve and grow our business. Within Compliance Assurance (CA), you’ll support assurance activities over regulatory compliance (RC) and financial crime (FC) risks, helping ensure our approach remains aligned to the bank’s Risk Management Framework (RMF).

What you will do:

This role sits within the Compliance Assurance (CA) sub-function and contributes to the global standardised CA approach. You’ll help deliver end-to-end assurance work over RC and FC risks and controls, acting as a subject matter expert in assessing the effectiveness of risk management activities against industry standards, local regulatory obligations and bank policy. You’ll also lead and contribute to assurance reviews across multiple Global Businesses/Functions in Europe and manage effective relationships with key stakeholders.

In this role you will:

• Support the design and execution of assurance activities, ensuring relevant standards, policies and procedures are met.
• Provide subject matter expertise to colleagues, advising on review scope and delivery of assurance activities.
• Inform Risk Owners, Control Owners and Risk Stewards on the design and operational effectiveness of controls in their areas.
• Escalate significant control deficiencies in a timely manner.
• Proactively identify key emerging compliance risks across Global Businesses/Functions.
• Support high-quality deliverables through quality control across the CA review life cycle (Terms of Reference, fieldwork, reporting).

You should apply if you have:

• Extensive knowledge of Regulatory Compliance (RC) and/or Financial Crime (FC), with experience in assurance or testing activities.
• A clear understanding of regulatory and/or financial crime compliance risk within the global financial services industry.
• Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build positive and resilient partnerships.
• Strong analytical/problem-solving capability (lateral thinking; able to interpret and solve complex issues).
• Excellent communication and influencing skills.
• Strong English language skills (written and spoken).
• Ability to work autonomously, with sound decision-making capability.
• A relevant external financial services qualification (where pertinent to the role).
