As a Senior Lead, Compliance & Data Privacy for Europe, you will serve as the regional compliance expert, helping VB Spine meet its obligations under European laws, regulations, industry codes, and GDPR requirements.

You will partner closely with business stakeholders to provide practical compliance guidance, support ethical business practices, and ensure adherence to local regulations across key European markets.

What You’ll Do:

Healthcare Compliance – Events, Sponsorships & Educational Programs

• Provide compliance oversight and guidance for HCP/HCO interactions, including consulting agreements, sponsorships, grants, educational programs, events, and other transfers of value across Europe.
• Ensure business activities comply with applicable European healthcare laws, industry codes, and VB Spine policies, while serving as a subject matter expert on country-specific requirements.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to identify and mitigate compliance risks, support compliance policies and training, and monitor regulatory developments across European markets.

Data Privacy

• Lead and support VB Spine's GDPR and broader European data privacy compliance program, ensuring appropriate policies, processes, and controls are in place across the organization.
• Provide practical guidance on data privacy matters, including personal data processing, data processing agreements, cross-border data transfers, data subject rights, privacy assessments, and incident response.
• Partner with internal stakeholders and the external Data Protection Officer (DPO) to monitor regulatory developments, manage privacy risks, and maintain compliance with evolving European data protection requirements.

Corporate Compliance & Social Responsibility

• Support VB Spine’s compliance with applicable UK Modern Slavery Act requirements, including related policies, disclosures, and compliance activities.
• Support Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives and related policies, reporting, and compliance requirements.
• Partner with appropriate internal stakeholders to identify and address regulatory and compliance requirements related to corporate responsibility initiatives.

General Compliance Support

• Serve as a key compliance resource for OUS operations, with a primary focus on European markets.
• Support compliance risk assessments, monitoring activities, investigations, audits, and remediation efforts, as appropriate.
• Develop and maintain strong cross-functional relationships with Legal, Commercial, Medical Education, IT, HR, and other business functions.
• Perform other compliance-related responsibilities as assigned.

What You Bring:

• University degree (Bachelor or Master) in law, compliance, business, healthcare, or a related field required.
• 5-7 years of of relevant experience in compliance, data privacy, legal, or a related function.
• Proven compliance experience within the pharmaceutical, medical device, or MedTech industry, supporting European markets and healthcare-related activities, including HCP/HCO engagements, contracting, sponsorships, grants, and educational programs.
• Strong knowledge of European healthcare compliance requirements and GDPR, with the ability to provide practical guidance on country-specific regulations, data privacy obligations, and compliance risk management.
• Experience partnering cross-functionally with Legal, Commercial, Medical Education, IT, HR, and other business functions.
• Excellent organizational, analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills and proficiency in English.

Compensation:

Pay for this role is competitive and based on experience, with qualifications and performance considered.

This role is with remote/hybrid work model.

VB Spine reserves the right to offer compensation outside of this listed range. Final compensation is determined on a case-by-case basis and considers factors such as experience level, skill set, and market conditions.
