Purpose of the role:
- Involved in daily change management activities, this role will support EAB SA to addresses changes impacting its operational, financial and regulatory environment.
- The job holder will play a key role in the implementation of new systems and processes, directly interacting with operational staff, gathering business requirements and delivering solutions in line with Regulatory requirements and the Bank risk appetite.
- The Business Analyst is a key element of Data Management and will actively participate any action to enhance EAB Data Management framework.
Principal Accountabilities & Duties:
- Coordinate with Heads of Department and Compliance department to ensure a proactive approach to changes impacting EAB SA, understand their need.
- Gather, analyze, and interpret Business and Technical Requirements with the business.
- Create detailed business requirements documentation, follow-up progress against target until final delivery of the project and proactively identify potential blockers.
- Communicate findings and recommendations to the business and to the management, provide advice for correcting measures and escalate proactively any risk of slippage.
- Develop and recommend solutions, which can include new software, system modifications, or procedural changes to address business problems taking into consideration Regulatory and/or Business requirements, timelines for implementation, potential system development or change.
- Discuss the technical aspects of the change with EAB Plc London IT team to agree approach and secure developments.
- Test all new set-up and fixes in a Test-environment and deliver sign-off before going live.
- Maintain a good working relationship with all EAB-department staff especially Project-relevant staff in order to provide a qualitative support to the Business.
- Evaluate existing business processes and systems to identify inefficiencies and propose data-driven solutions.
- Act as a pivot to Data Management activities supporting Data Owners and Data Stewards in the implementation of a clear and efficient Data Governance.
- Participate Data Governance Forum, ad-hoc business meetings, provide feedback and follow-up on open issue resolution.
- Provide support in the production of reporting to EAB SA local Regulator (Quarterly, Half Yearly & Yearly), streamlining and improving the process.
- Provide support in relation to any internal or external regulatory review.
Risk Management:
- Identify all significant risks within own area and ensure appropriate controls are in place for the management/mitigation of these risks.
- Report policy/procedure breaches and areas of potential non-compliance and suspicions promptly upon identification in accordance with the Bank's Risk and Compliance policies.
- Accurately execute all controls within own area to minimise risk of policy, procedure, and/or regulatory breaches.
- Identify new risks/control gaps within own area or within the department managing the change and escalate accordingly to your Line Manager and/or Head of Department.
- Ensure all risks are mitigated by adequate controls to meet Banking industry standards and the approved risk appetite (market, liquidity risks, capital ratio…).
- Any incident to be properly documented and action plan remediation implemented as per agreed timelines.
Other Duties:
- Maintain EAB SA policy framework to ensure alignment with developments of any new standards or changes in the Bank organization.
- Complete all annual mandatory regulatory refresher training as per the Bank's training plans and deadlines.
- Proactively seek to complete recommended technical and behavioural competencies training required for the role
- Act in accordance with the relevant regulatory codes of practice and the Code of Conduct of the Bank.
- Fulfil all prescribed business continuity requirements as set out in the organisational or departmental specific plans or as instructed by the Line Manager/Head of Department.
Required Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
- Educated to A level or equivalent standard,
- Good understanding of Banking operations and regulatory requirements,
- Technical knowledge, proficiency in business software and tools to liaise across business and IT department
