Open Call for Associate Writers (Freelance)

This is an application to join a writer's pool. We are not hiring at this time but are glad to keep your submission on file.

This application is for those who have first hand knowledge of our apps and know our Voice. See Fab Co's full family of apps in the App Store or Play Store before proceeding.

To move forward, you will be writing 1) a sample part of an asset you love (eg challenge, journey...) 2) naming the asset-type and 3) which app you are writing for. You decide how long the sample shall be. Rest assured, it will not be used in any app unless there is a successful interview process; it is purely an opportunity to put your best foot forward.

PLEASE MOVE FORWARD IF YOU ARE:

- an educated writer
- skilled in science-based research
- with a developed craft of calm, thoughtful writing that inspires
- professional, self-reliant, self-directed, known for your follow-through
- a native or highly fluent English speaker
- anywhere in the world (this is a remote post)

- and willing to complete an actual submission (see above)

YOUR VOICE:

- is not casual, slang, or "best-friendy"
- is not known for exclamation marks
- is positive without being "polly-anna"
- always speaks with innate respect
- inspires curiosity without the empty pep-talk

Expectations | Duties

• Conduct scholarly research on a variety of topics, from productivity to compassion
• Distill scientific content into an understandable and engaging format for a diverse audience (business executives to pop culture connoisseurs)
• Craft long- and short-form product content experiences that use behavioral science to support personal growth
• Apply the narrative arc as a tool for inspiring and motivating users towards positive change
• Proofread all content for grammar, punctuation, and stylistic inconsistencies
• This position reports to the Chief Storyteller

Requirements

• Interest in personal development and human behavior
• Fluent in English with mastery of grammar and sentence construction
• Beneficial: training in counseling psychology, coaching, behavioral change

Our History

Three co-founders created the Fabulous app: Sami, Amine, and Taylor. Growing up in Tunisia, Sami and Amine were only 16 when they met. With their early iteration, they reached out to Taylor, an award-winning designer in Malaysia. Their vision was welcomed into an incubation lab for startups at Duke University led by world-renowned Behavioral Economics Professor Dan Ariely. Our Chief Storyteller Jaz co-founded the Introductory Psychology program at Stanford University.
