Job Description
- Develop and execute sourcing strategies for direct spend categories, aligned with business goals.
- Identify, evaluate, and manage contract manufacturers and suppliers to ensure quality, cost and delivery performance.
- Lead contract negotiations and ensure compliance with internal policies and regional regulations.
- Conduct cost benchmarking and cost analysis to identify savings opportunities.
- Monitor commodity trends and regional market dynamics to inform sourcing decisions.
- Drive cost reduction initiatives through competitive bidding, supplier consolidation, and value engineering.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align sourcing strategies with product development and operational needs.
- Lead supplier performance reviews and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
The Successful Applicant
A successful Category Manager should have:
- Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Business or a related field preferred.
- 3-5 years of experience in sourcing or procurement, ideally in the apparel, garment or textile industry.
- Experience managing contract manufacturers and suppliers in China, India, Bangladesh, Vietnam, Thailand, Cambodia, Philippines and etc.
- Proven experience managing suppliers across Asia, Africa and Middle East.
- Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Ariba) is a plus.
- Strong analytical and financial acumen with experience in cost modelling.
- Excellent negotiation, communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficiency in Excel and data analysis tools.
- Ability to manage complexity across diverse supplier markets and cultural contexts.
