Director of Product Management, Electronics
The Director of Product Management works with key stakeholders across all functional disciplines to build and bring to market the next Product / Service’s generation by supporting innovation and execute Product Management initiatives across the company.
Looking at new and existing market opportunities, he provides leadership for strategically driving and managing Product / Service feature development to meet business expectations, validating the product / service features and configurations, contribute to the Product / Service roadmap with a long-term strategy in mind, handling stakeholder communications, and identifying new product enhancement opportunities for a dedicated line of Product / Service.
He drives agile execution of Product / Service launches and market penetration.
More specifically, with the support of a dedicated team of Product & Technology Marketing Engineers and Application Design Engineers :
Research and Analysis :
- Define metrics that inform the success of the dedicated Product’s line.
- Conduct relevant Market and Product / Service research; establishing competitive intelligence, Market & SWOT analysis to aid stakeholders in understanding current and future Market and Product / Service requirements.
- Identify and monitor market trends to communicate threats and opportunities and predict which Product / Service will be popular in the future
Product & Market Strategy :
- Translate Business strategy into Product strategy.
- Translate Product’s needs into requirements and drive consensus which ultimately promotes the achievement of the Product goals.
- Responsible for crowdsourcing, developing, and curating ideas that add value to the Product / service and Customer experience.
- Craft the Product / service and Market vision with associated Product and technology roadmaps across a portfolio of products, markets and geographies.
- Drive those roadmaps from business requirements through post-launch analysis to determine if goals are met :
- Define Product / Service release requirements and execution strategies
- Define messaging, positioning, including pricing, gross profit margins, and go to market strategies
- Implement tools and processes necessary to drive Product / Service adoption
- Work with regional teams to ensure market requirements are incorporated in Product roadmaps and go-to-market materials
- Provide input to Product / Service development & improvement from concept through end-of-life based on market and competitive analysis, business and use cases and Product and Market requirements.
- Own and manage Product / Service documentation ensuring features and associated documentation are clear and easily consumable
- Update the Product roadmap and specifically how Product / Service may accomplish its business goals by analyzing and updating progress and by providing a comprehensive view of progress toward objectives to comprehend how Product / Service is performing.
Product Development & lifecycle :
- Execute the Product strategy by transforming the Product strategy into detailed requirements.
- Leading the Application Design team, act as an interface with engineering (R&D) to develop the next generation of Product / Service.
- Analyse needs on a technical standpoint based on business experience and feedback
- Evaluate new technology and suggest incorporating it into existing products or creating new Product / Service based on new technology
- Write technical specifications for the development of new functionalities
- Follow-up of development and validation of the developments carried out
- Participate in the industrialisation of the dedicated Product’s line
- Identify and effectively resolve the causes of the technical problems
- Support the Application Project Team for any request related to the use of the dedicated Product’s line
- Advise our customers and partners as an expert technical contact for the dedicated Product’s line
Support & Product Evangelism :
- Develop marketing campaigns to promote new Product / Service.
- Develop marketing and sales collaterals.
- Train internal and external teams.
- Represent the business and promote products by advocating for value and benefits at executive briefings, marketing events...
- Design, plan and implement keynote and high profile product launch events to promote products and services
Key-users Relations :
- Responsible for engaging extensively with key-users / clients in order to gain firsthand insight on market feedback to breed a clearer understanding of the current and future market direction, needs and potential receptivity.
- Review feedback to understand how customers are using products and how they could be improved
- Maintain regular contact with key industry influencers and sound design consulting firms to increase Company’s awareness and specification and gain relevant market intelligence.
Communication & Report :
- Develop communication strategy and tools to provide transparency on Product roadmaps, and release development progress and ensure they are continually maintained.
- Coordinate internal and external communication for Products and Services.
- Communicate on Product plans, benefits and results.
Leadership, Collaboration & Supervision :
- Establish shared vision across the company by building consensus.
- As one of a cross-functional nature, liaise with other Product Management Directors & stakeholders.
- Attract, build, manage, and develop a talented, diverse and inclusive team of Application Design Engineers and Product & Technology Marketing Engineers.
- Lead the team through the ideation, technical development, launch of Product & crisis management.
- Set up team for success by establishing clear and measurable goals & providing adequate training
