Head of Construction Paris

Leap29 are currently assisting a global Solar PV company who are hiring for a Head of Construction to join their team in Paris.

My client oversees everything from project development and financing to construction, operation, and maintenance, all the way to energy management.

The successful candidate will oversee and manage projects at all stages, starting from planning permission, progressing through RTB status and construction, and concluding with the connection to the national grid and commissioning.

Responsibilities

• Oversee multiple projects at different sites, ensuring they stay on schedule and within budget.
• Create clear and concise reports for the Head of Asset Realisation and the finance department.
• Take charge of approved projects, managing them from planning through construction to grid connection and commissioning.
• Build relationships with public authorities, national grid operators, and consultants throughout project phases.
• Ensure projects meet licensing requirements, national grid connection procedures, laws, standards, company technical requirements, and international standards.
• Develop detailed project budgets and construction schedules, closely monitoring them throughout.
• Define technical requirements and scopes of work for EPC construction contracts and associated agreements.
• Select potential EPC contractors, lead RFQs, and negotiate contracts.
• Choose project and construction managers, ensuring resource availability.
• Uphold compliance with HSEQ requirements and standards.

Requirements

• Hold a Master’s degree in Engineering or similar.
• Have at least 5 years of experience in a similar solar industry role.
• Proficient in French (native level) and English (proficient); knowledge of Italian is a plus.
• Possess an EU driving license.
• Familiar with various construction disciplines : Electrical, mechanical, civil, HSEQ, environmental.
• Understand connection procedures to the national HV / MV grid with TSO / DSO grid operators.
• Expertise in the approval process for photovoltaic plants and obtaining construction permits.
• Strong analytical, abstraction, and synthesis skills.
• Excellent written and oral communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Display leadership and management abilities, fostering a collaborative work environment.
