The post-doctoral position will be based at the Servier Research and Development Institute Paris-Saclay, France.
The position is part of Servier’s contribution to a Public-Private Partnership program (Recherches Hospitalo-Universitaires or RHU) on developmental and epileptic encephalopathies associated with mutations leading to gain of function (GoF) or loss of function (LoF) of potassium channels (K-DEE).
The aim of the RHU project is to improve the understanding of these diseases and to develop innovative diagnostics (biomarker identification) and therapeutics (antisense oligonucleotides and small molecules).
This position is a unique opportunity to make meaningful contributions to the development of therapies for these devastating diseases.
The objectives of the post-doctoral research are :
- To develop neuronal models from patient-derived induced Pluripotent Stem Cells (iPSCs) associated to potassium channel GoF and LoF mutations and to compare them to isogenic control cell lines
- To characterize the models using electrophysiology (patch-clamp recordings, multielectrode array system )
- To evaluate the effects of antisense oligonucleotides developed by Servier
Your responsibilities :
- To perform the banking and cultures of the different iPSCs
- To develop neuronal models from patient-derived iPSCs
- To perform iPSCs electrophysiological characterization and analyses, using multielectrodes array and patch-clamp recordings
- Evaluations of antisense oligonucleotides
- Presentation of the data on regular basis at Servier and to other non-Servier RHU members
- Poster presentation at national and international meetings and writing of publication(s)
Your profile :
- PhD in Neurosciences with knowledge in Cellular Biology and Electrophysiology
- Strong background in electrophysiological recordings (Patch-clamp and multielectrode array)
- Differentiation and cultivation of iPSCs
- Interest in lab bench work
- English language skills
- Experienced in multidisciplinary approaches
- Comfortable working in a team
- Autonomy in lab work
