ArcelorMittal has a firm commitment to reach carbon neutrality by 2050; The use of scrap steel is one of the levers to lower CO2 emissions from steelmaking, with this purpose, BD Recycling has been created in 2022 as a new division.

Our strategy is to guarantee opportunities in the scrap market to both establish ArcelorMittal as an important player in the metal recycling space while securing access to the required volumes of scrap underpinning our decarbonization strategy.

We are seeking a dedicated CEO France to join our team and develop our scrap business on the French market by greenfield projects and acquisitions.

The position is reporting to the CEO of the Business Division Recycling

In this role, you will be responsible for P&L of the region, profitable business and strategic growth by driving greenfield projects and acquisitions.

Additionally, you will play a crucial role in leading the regional teams to a become key player on the scrap market

Key responsibilities

• Develop metal recycling business strategy for the Business Division in the French market further, in close collaboration with BD Business Development Management
• Ensure well coordination & execution of strategy through greenfield projects and acquisitions with regional management teams
• Participate in the implementation of greenfield projects, including coordination of technical, commercial and regulatory aspects in close collaboration with CTO team
• Use network and knowledge of the metal recycling market to identify potential targets to be acquired or with whom agreements and partnerships could be developed
• Manage teams and support them in achieving successfully their objectives
• Draw up and monitor budgets with commitments in terms of investment, financial (EBITDA, cash flow & ROCE), materials and human resources
• Ensure that new acquisitions are properly integrated and that AM Group procedures are applied and respected
• Analyze activity data, identify areas for development and define action plans for improvement, implement and monitor them
• Ensure efficient link and communication with BD Recycling management team and relevant stakeholders
• Promote the AM group's health & safety policy within the local teams

Qualifications :

• Significant professional leadership experience
• Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Engineering or a related field (preferred)
• Knowledge of recycling industry practices and market dynamics in France, proven experience in waste management, metal recycling business a plus
• Entrepreneurial mindset and proactivity with ambition to develop business from scratch
• Results-oriented with strong performance record, able to drive performance and profitability
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
• Good oral and written communication skills in French and English
• High level of organization and detail-orientation
