Renewable Energy Project Development Manager

Overview :
My client are actively seeking a highly motivated and experienced Renewable Energy Project Development Manager to join their team in Bordeaux, France.
The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in the development, execution, and management of renewable energy projects, with a focus on solar, wind and storage.
This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead initiatives that will have a significant impact on the transition to sustainable energy sources.
Key Responsibilities :
- Lead the identification, evaluation, and development of renewable energy projects, with a primary focus on solar and wind energy.
- Conduct site assessments, feasibility studies, and due diligence to evaluate the suitability and potential of project locations.
- Manage permitting processes, ensuring compliance with local, regional, and national regulations and standards.
- Develop financial models, including cost estimation, revenue projections, and ROI analysis for potential projects.
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, landowners, local communities, and potential investors.
- Negotiate contracts with suppliers, contractors, and other project partners to secure necessary resources and services.
- Develop project plans, timelines, and budgets, and oversee the project from inception to completion.
- Identify potential project risks and implement mitigation strategies to ensure successful project outcomes.
- Supervise a team of project developers, engineers, and other professionals involved in project development.
- Provide regular reports to senior management on project progress, budget status, and potential issues.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Engineering, Environmental Science, Business Administration). Master's degree preferred.
- Proven experience in renewable energy project development, with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
- Strong knowledge of renewable energy technologies, particularly solar and wind.
- Familiarity with French and European renewable energy regulations and permitting processes.
- Excellent project management skills with a track record of successful project delivery.
- Proficiency in financial modeling and cost-benefit analysis.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders.
- Fluency in French and English (both written and spoken).
