Sous chef (South Loire Valley)
Following the reopening of a 140 years-old restaurant (@restaurantimage37) in our quaint village (pop : 1,000 hab) of Southern Loire Valley, France we are looking for a sous chef.
The inspiration is home-made rustic French food and we are (@mathieumusnier @fundamentally flawed) helping in the day to day operations (Front of the house and Pastry).
The sous chef assists the CDC in designing the menu, selecting the raw materials and for delivering outstanding dishes to a discerning clientele of local patrons and travellers.
The village is located in Touraine (Southern Loire Valley, France) and in proximity of Poitou and Berry regions, all extremely rich and dense in culinary specialities and produces.
The ideal candidate is looking to acquire a culinary experience in France, while serving a dynamic community and put forth local produces.
Interest in exploring and using local ingredients is key. This job is perfectly suited for someone passionate, focused and looking to get deeply involved in a culinary project.
It also best suited for someone at ease with living in a rural environment. Command of French is not mandatory but good conversational English is a must.
Accommodation on site with high speed internet is provided. 2 consecutive rest days per week. This position is a 6 to 12 months contract.
Pay is 1,500 to 2,000 euros (net take home) per month based on qualifications.
