Planning, Reporting and Melia Support Consultant

Background

The Project Coordination Unit(PCU) is responsible for developing and implementing high-level projectmanagement methodologies, standards, and tools, including expectations based onthe size of initiatives / projects.

The Unit monitors project managementperformance and provides advice and recommendations to continuously improve andbuild project management capacities across staff and project partners.

Theadvice, guidance, and recommendations provided by the PCU cover all projectphases from planning, start-up, implementation, monitoring and reporting,evaluation, and learning, to closeout.

The PCU contributes to otherinitiatives, including project identification and development, with expertisein project management and project-level MELIA.

Objective

In collaboration with PCU ProgramManagers and the Global Head of Project Coordination Unit, the consultancy willsupport the Project Coordination Unit in the key functions specific toPlanning, Reporting, and MELIA.

The Consultant will report to the Global Head,Project Coordination Unit.

Dutiesand Responsibilities of the Consultant will include :

1.In coordination with the PCU MELIA Manager, assist in supportingthe organization of the CGIAR MELIA Coordination meeting including but notlimited to the researching to produce Online content-specific sessions thatwill cumulate to the face-to-face meeting in the first quarter of 2024.

2.In coordination with the PCU Reporting Manager, develop the draftcompanion narrative document that defines the ONE CGIAR project Lifecyclebuilding on Center-level available reference guidance and policies.

3.In collaboration with the PCU Planning Manager,

a.Coordinate with the CGIAR Communications and CG Space teams toreformat and update the 2022 and 2023 Plan of Results and Budget filesavailable on the CGIAR website and CG Space, in accordance with the CGIARguidelines.

b.Support in the quality review of the 2024 Plan of Results andBudget in preparation for final formatting and publication on the CGIAR websiteand CG Space.

4.In coordination with the PCU team, collate weekly, the PCU plannedmeetings and events and update accordingly to the shared Monday.complatform.

5.InCoordination with the PCU team and Communication Consultant, support continuousdrafting of PCU documents and presentations.

6.In Coordination with PCU team, provide support in the coordinationof travel for the PCU team as required.

Expected Results and Deliverables

The followingkey results and deliverables are expected :

• MELIA online coordination meetings technical content developed,and online sessions held.
• MELIA face to face coordination meeting held.
• ONE CGIAR Project lifecycle document developed.
• Published 2022-2023 Plan of Results and Budget correctly edited.
• 2024 Plan of Results and Budget published on the CGIARWebsite.
• Monday.com platforms updated in line with PCU Objectives and KeyResults.
• Well-drafted documents and presentations produced.

Requirements

Qualifications / special skills

• Master’s degree in international development, project management,business or other related areas.
• Atleast five (5) years post-qualification experience in MELIA, Project Planning,Reporting and / or managing of research for development projects.
• Specializedexperience in MELIA, project planning and reporting, and / or managing projectsat regional and global levels for research and development projects andprograms.
• Substantialpeople management and team building experience.
• Provenexperience in providing advice to leadership roles, and external stakeholdersof research projects.
• Provenability to advocate, build, and develop multidisciplinary teams and managetalent, with a strong commitment to promoting diversity, knowledge sharing, andstaff development.
• Abilityto effectively communicate a common vision to diverse internal and externalstakeholders.
• Excellentinterpersonal and relationship-building skills and ability to workcollaboratively with people at all levels in a decentralized, respectful,multi-cultural, multi-disciplinary organization.

Time frame

The consultancy contract will befor one (1) year but for a duration of 3 months in the first instance as partof the probation period.

Conditionsand Remuneration :

• Thisposition will be fully remote and home-based, giving you the flexibility tocreate your ideal work environment.
• It is estimated that the above tasks would require up to 15 workingdays per month.
• Payments will be made monthly in installments against invoicesindicating the number of days worked and deliveries achieved and approved bythe supervisor.
• Paymentswill be made on a minimum monthly basis.
