The Position
The Manager Social and Labor relations is responsible for developing and implementing strategies for leading the relationship with works councils and labor unions across Continental Europe (CE).
You ensure compliance wit labor law, while promoting an harmonious work environment across CE operations, incl strategic planning, collaboration with local HR teams and the development of policies that align with corporate and regional objectives.
You build and maintain constructive relationships with labor unions or employee representatives, through regular communication, collaboration on mutual interests and negotiating during collective bargaining.
Key Responsibilities :
Labor relations strategy
- With key stakeholders develop and implement a comprehensive labor relations strategy and framework that complies with European and local employment laws and aligns with CE objectives.
- Define the CE negotiations strategy and communications framework.
- Build trusted partnerships with regional as well as local key internal stakeholders (incl local HR partners) with the purpose of ensuring regional consistency while staying locally relevant.
- Leads the European Works Council meetings and updates, including mandatory meetings and negotiations (e.g. organizational changes, change of policies and procedures, ) .
Ensure a proper implementation of social agreements.
Employee communication
- Develop and execute communication strategies that keep employees informed about labor relations matters, policy changes and company initiatives.
- Foster an open and transparent communication culture to build trust among employees.
Social relations France
- Lead negotiations strategy, communication & coordination in France
- Manage Central Workers Council and coordinates Local Works Councils
Social and labor law
- Monitor trends and legislation changes to identify. Identify potential labor relations risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
- Develop and maintain internal capabilities by keeping internal partners (e.g. managers, HR) up to speed on specific social topics, regulatory changes, policies, collective bargaining principles etc
- Manage code of conduct investigations
The Ideal Candidate :
Degree in Human Resources, Law, Business Administration, or related field.
Proven track record in social and labor relations at a European level, with strong track record in France.
Strong expertise of European and French labor laws and regulation.
Proven track record of successful negotiations with unions and employee representatives.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive situations diplomatically.
Fluency in English and French.
Flexible to travel across Europe as required.
